Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The Talent Development Specialist will be involved in executing various talent management initiatives in support of the Lassonde Pappas strategic objectives. This roles is also responsible for producing communications and training materials relevant to the Talent Development cycle. This position reports to the Director of Talent Development and Culture.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES (essential functions of the job) Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Responsibilities include:

  • Prepares for and administers the annual performance management and talent review processes.
  • Creates and administers organizational needs assessments to determine skills gaps, training needs, etc.
  • Effectively analyzes and reports metrics, including but not limited to succession planning, internal promotions, and development planning. Promotes opportunities to use talent metrics to generate deeper insights and drive action in critical areas.
  • Direct responsibility for the development and generation of marketing materials to internally promote Talent Management processes through the use of various types of online/print media, and HR partnerships
  • Supports the organization’s high-potential leadership development programs, including structure design, facilitation, logistics, etc.
  • Creates and facilitates training and provides communications tailored to target audiences ranging from plant operators through senior management. Maintains and updates training material and resources.
  • Produces and facilitates virtual meetings / trainings.
  • Creates, manages, and communicates training modules within LPC’s Learning Management System to support the growth and development of internal talent.
  • Manages on-going vendor relationships (including training vendors, executive coaches, etc.
  • Provides coaching (personality assessment, career coaching, etc.) as needed.
  • Analyzes current practices and provides recommendations regarding the enhancement of programs, processes and technologies to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Consults with Recruitment partners and LPC Leadership to ensure we provide the right talent development initiatives to meet the changing demands of the business
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned


Minimum Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR or related curriculum
  • 3+ years of talent management/learning & development experience
  • Demonstrated experience developing training and resource materials to support talent management processes.
  • Strong organizational skills, detail oriented and ability to multi-task.
  • Must have excellent time management skills
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of e-learning authoring tools (Camtasia, Articulate, Storyline, etc.)
  • MBTI, 360 Coaching a plus
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships.
  • Ability to communicate to all levels of an employee population (both verbal and written communication)
  • PHR certification a plus


This position requires sufficient physical ability to work in a typical office setting; driving a motor vehicle and occasionally working in the field.

FREQUENT** : sitting, upward and downward flexion of neck; fine finger dexterity and light to moderate finger pressure to include extended periods of keyboard and mouse use, side-to-side turning of neck, walking, standing, bending and stooping, pushing/pulling, twisting at waist, moderate wrist torque to twist equipment knobs and dials.

OCCASIONAL** : squatting, kneeling, reach above and at shoulder height, moderate grasp to manipulate reference books and manuals; lifting objects weighing 20 – 35 lbs. from below waist to above shoulders and transporting distances up to 50 feet.

VISION** : Ability to see in the normal visual range with or without correction.

HEARING** : Ability to hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
